Eve was born in London England the daughter of actor Trevor Eve and Sharon Maughan. She has two younger brothers Jack and George and was raised in both the United Kingdom and Los Angeles United States. She attended Bedales School then Westminster School London to complete the duration of her A Levels. While on a gap year she played at Beverly Hills Playhouse. Then at St Catherine's College Oxford, she was a student of English. The student actress was in productions An Ideal Husband Animal Crackers, Scenes from an Execution (which was toured to Edinburgh Fringe Festival), as well as The Colour of Justice while at Oxford. Eve has starred on television in the BBC's The Rotters Club Poirot Hawking as well as the movie Stage Beauty (2005). Eve had a prominent role in two of the films released in 2006. Her parents are Indo-British from British heritage Anthony Mitra and an Irish mother Nora Downey. English actress Guyan Mitra is one of the three siblings. They include an elder brother Jason Mitra. Her younger brother is an acclaimed travel journalist and his writings have appeared in Lonely Planet and The Sunday Times.
